Let's Play Love

Was invited to cameo in one of xinmsn's new shows called Let's Play Love - as myself! It's a romantic comedy and it's kinda interesting coz voters get to have a choice in what happens next in the show!

My first time being an actress wtf... My role is the lead actress' best friend.

Anyway I was supposed to play a bigger role but in the end I couldn't start earlier coz it clashed with my nose job. But even with a few lines I was so stressed out! Blessing in disguise that I didn't get the heavier role then. :p

Filming location is at Klapsons hotel.

With Teresa Tseng, my "bff" of the day!

She's super nice, I really like her. Hardworking with her lines and she and Huang Jing Lun (Singaporean dude who took part in 超級星光大道 in Taiwan. And he is really funny) sang together on the bus on the way to Klapsons.

They sound super nice wtf. Why can't I be talented like that?? I also wanna sing on buses to impress random bloggers.

We had a "prop" cake and it was really super duper nice wtf. Best strawberry shortcake EVER!!!

And our drink of some sort of tea (passionfruit?) with ice cubes/spheres of the same drink. So much effort to make the drink not taste watered down!

Here's the script. I'm ashamed to say I barely could read it. Can't believe I got A2 for my Chinese, C5 for my higher Chinese and was from a Chinese school. So diu lian!!! I blame it on my angmoh husband who makes me watch angmoh shows.

One more with Teresa! Didn't bother to PS her coz she's already so pretty. *grumbles*

With Star Search finalist James Seah. He so poor thing lor he had to sit there for hours with us and he was only supposed to walk handsomely past us and not even say a line. FHL. Or it could be an awesome thing depending on whether he likes wasting time doing nothing.

With Huang Jing Lun

Ok that's it with the photos... I'm on episode 6 so you can watch me here:

Aftermath

Some people have asked me to write an entry about my feelings now that the elections are over so here it is.

I am sad, obviously. Sad that Singapore lost an amazing Minister who has done so much for us. Disappointed that the outcome wasn't what I hoped it would be.

But I find that what's even more tragic was the fact that after the results were announced, dozens of people all wrote me very nasty @replies on twitter. Right, I write nasty shit all the time to people too. But I'd NEVER, NEVER attack someone when they are already feeling utterly depressed. That's just low. You got your favourable outcome. I didn't. There is no need to gloat.

Just like even though I support PAP, I'd never smirk and say HEY! CHIAM LOST POTONG PASIR WOOHOO SUCK ON THAT BYATCHES! No way! Coz I can see that Mr Chiam has dedicated his whole life to Singapore and I admire that. He is a great MP. I geddit that some people don't like me, but do you really hate me enough to feel happy that GY is gone? Really???? Look at the bigger picture please?

And of course, some of the haters started to say that I, humble Wendy Cheng, inadvertibly caused PAP to lose Aljunied just coz I endorsed it.

This really pissed me off. I mean of course these people MEANT to piss me off. But it was successful.

THEN... Amazingly enough, when I was feeling so down, I actually started thinking... IS IT TRUE? Did I really cause Singapore to lose our Foreign Minister?

But that was like 2 days ago. I can't believe it! They got to me!

After years and years of blogging and dealing with haters, something finally got to me! The last time I felt so upset with comments was probably when I gave Pumpkin away. I now have a morbid fear of dog-lovers.

So anyway, after I snapped out of it, I realised that these people are fucking full of shit.

On May 3rd when I wrote my first GE related blog entry, I had 75,922 unique visitors. Readers agreed with my entry and made MM Lee's fb fan page gain from 57,087 fb likes to over 72,000 fb likes overnight, exceeding Nicole Seah's by over 4000.

Did my "endorsement" fail? No it didn't.

(Yes I'm aware Ms Seah's likes have once again exceeded that of MM Lee's but I don't care anymore coz she can't be the most popular politician if she is no longer a politician. I will resist the urge to gloat.)

On May 4th, I had 110,723 unique visitors for the "Vote Wisely" entry. By May 5th, the same people who said I caused PAP's loss were screaming and yelling online, saying how they CANNOT believe that people are taken in by my blog entries and how naive these people are. They felt threatened.

On May 6th, Cooling Off Day, the hashtag #RidingWithTheLightning trended on twitter for almost 24 hours thanks to me, with Singaporeans pledging to give their vote to PAP.

How can it be that my blog entries could cause someone who is neutral to vote for WP? I merely wrote about what a good minister GY is. If someone hates me enough to forsake all other reasons to vote for the opposite of what I urge people to, then he is extremely stupid. I can't believe that anyone would even dare to admit that.

To suggest that I caused PAP's downfall in Aljunied is just ABSURD. Singaporeans don't care about me that much. (*fake blush*)

PAP lost because Workers' Party sent their strongest team ever to fight in Aljunied. PAP lost because last year, even without an "A" team, Aljunied was a very close fight anyway.

PAP lost because citizens didn't like MM Lee's comments about repentance.

PAP lost because of the voices of thousands of Singaporeans all screaming, "HEY! The country is progressing too fast and leaving me behind. Slow down! If you don't I'd have to stop you by voting you out."

But I don't blame these people for trying to hurt me by saying I caused the the minister I loved and supported to exit politics. That's because I rarely lose, and it's a great time to trample all over my huge ego. LOL. Do it!! Your next chance might take a long time to come!!

But may I state formally... that I didn't lose? In writing these blog entries, I had 3 objectives.

1) For PAP to win Aljunied GRC. I clearly lost this.

2) For a PAP ruling party.

I concede that my articles were VERY biased. I wrote nothing good about the opposition and chose to delete any comments Pro-Opposition/Anti-PAP, even if they were well-reasoned.

Why? Because Pro-Opposition sentiment is already very strong everywhere. I mean look at the opposition rallies' crowd! Everywhere I looked, people were coming up with more and more anti-PAP articles, and yet nobody was speaking up for them. That's not because nobody believes in them - it's because it is such a given that they will dominate the parliament that there was NO NEED to defend them. People only liked to give support to the underdog.

Besides, the anti-PAPs are so fierce that nobody dares to say anything Pro-PAP! You'd be immediately called a dog, brainwashed, ignorant, stupid etc.

I feared for Singapore's future. I think that with the strong anti-PAP sentiment going on online, PAP might not get majority seats and we might have a complete change in government. No matter what PAP's mistakes are, I didn't want that. Especially not some inexperienced ah bengs with left wing commies giving away citizens' money and undoing all we have achieved over the years.

Why didn't I trust Singaporeans to make their own judgement by providing a neutral, objective article? There wasn't a need to. Anti-PAP articles are everywhere. I was trying to provide a balance.

I agree we needed more opposition voices in parliament. But I didn't want to lost George Yeo. And I didn't want it to go overboard and topple PAP.

And true enough in many areas the PAP win was only a very close one. What's going to happen in 5 years' time when many of the old folks loyal to PAP are dead and the impressionable youths have only read about what an evil dictator PAP is? I didn't want that. I didn't think it was fair.

So yes. Objective achieved. Still the ruling party.

3) Nicole Seah to NOT be in parliament.

You may say I'm jealous of her or whatever, but she just REALLY rubs me off the wrong way. Seriously? All those crocodile tears? Save it.

Objective achieved!

I lost? No... 2 out of 3 isn't bad.

I'd end this off with an awesome letter I received from a blog reader:

And to those who have sent me comforting words, thank you. At times like this I feel that blogging is always worth it. :')

All the best to BG George Yeo and his endeavours from here on. Many Singaporeans, me included, will never forget you for the 23 years you have dedicated to our country, making it a much better place to stay in.

Lunch with the minister a few months ago with his team and the BonitoChico team.

Here's a piece of trivia nobody probably would have ever bothered to ask him during interviews: His favourite food is vongole pasta in white wine sauce.

Cooling Off Day

Phew it's finally almost over!!

Since today is "Cooling off day" (whatever that means in the internet world) I thought I'd write a light post and put up some pictures of the PAP rally I attended a few hours ago! HOW? Hardworking not?

It's really funny coz Straits Times' twitter account tweeted a picture of Qiuqiu, Sophie and me at the rally and almost everyone who replied said we were "bimbos". I felt sorry for the two girls especially Sophie since she is actually more pro-opposition than pro-PAP (although she's not anti PAP either) so she didn't deserve all that hate, but I'm secretly happy coz "bimbo" means an attractive but stupid girl.

I am 100% confident I am smart (action: whipping out Mensa and PSLE thingy) so I don't care whether stupid people (or even smart but obtuse people) think I'm stupid. But I'm not 100% confident I'm attractive so thanks for the affirmation! :D :D :D

Here's more proof that I'm at least half a bimbo:

Drawing my face and hand before going to the rally!

Love Qiuqiu's expression at the back looking a bit crazy. LOL

Love this slogan?

Credit to Rozz who coined it on her facebook (I think). She's super creative!!

Next time people ask you... WHO YOU VOTING?

What do you answer?

Give a cool smile and say...

"ME? I AM RIDING WITH THE LIGHTNING."

Qiuqiu said since I'm also a Harry Potter fan I should draw the lightning on my forehead.

But but... That's so ugly!

Sophie, bored while waiting for Gillian to finish work and drive there with us, decided to draw something on her face too. Since she is pro-opp/somewhat neutral (Boooo!) and cannot draw a hammer or she will get hamtum-ed at the rally, she drew cat whiskers.

Which probably contributed to us being called bimbos.

Here's Qiuqiu's war paint.

She said "How do I look?" after I took the pic and I said "Not good, look like one of the angry opposition uncles."

So she re-posed:

Better

One more pic of my artwork :D

Reached the rally.
We were so lucky to get a good carpark slot coz someone pulled out when we went in!!

Love the PAP truck got rainbow one!!!! I believe they are trying to win the gay vote.

With Gillian too. And check out my cool badges!! Cute max

Minister George Yeo's supporters' creative use of the leaflets and flags!

PAP's Ong Ye Kung speaking

Happy PAP supporters who came early and got front row seats. Seeing them smile somehow warms my heart. I love my fellow Singaporeans!!!! (When they are not being excessively whiney, nitpicky and negative. Ahem)

Qiuqiu very seriously listening to the speech coz she takes pride in being the first to yell a cheer. -_-

Got more siao not

I super love this signboard!!!!!!! The lightning bolt will flash somemore!!!

George Yeo: "When we asked the WP where is their 5-year plan, they said no plans... They will use PAP's plans." *Shakes brainy head*

Crowd: "STRIKE THEM STRIKE THEM STRIKE THEM!!!"

LOL

One more camwhoring shot

PM Lee speaking.

I know a lot of you are complaining about his apology. Frankly, I don't think he should have apologized for things that are not his fault. But you people wanted PAP to eat humble pie. Be less arrogant. Not do just what they want. Listen to the people.

He listened and he got slammed for it.

When are you going to forgive? Give him and PAP a second chance? Why everything they do you must twist to become something evil. They want the best for Singapore too.

Don't let your anger put the rest of your countrymen at stake.

Crowd photo

And finally....

BG George Yeo speaks:

Whilst other MPs used speeches that were more charged, GY put forth a speech that was more sincere, heart-felt and touching. Of course, my own opinion. I'm sure those heartily anti-PAP will say he is putting on a show.

But I could feel how sad he is that he might stop being the MP in Aljunied after 23 years.

23 LONG years where he has done his best for the residents and ate, jogged, chatted with them. He even knows a lot of them by name. I can only imagine how that must feel like and pray that Aljunied GRC familes feel the same way about GY the way he feels about them.

And don't just take my word about what a fantastic minister George Yeo is.

Please, take a moment to watch the following videos from Aljunied residents.

Even if you are pro-opposition and hate me, just watch these.

Don't say PAP doesn't care about their people.

Picking up rubbish after a rally can be faked.
Tears about $80 that deserved to be confiscated can be faked.

BUT THIS IS REAL WORK.

YEARS AND YEARS OF EFFORT AND HARD WORK THAT CANNOT BE FAKED.

But because it isn't before an audience, because it isn't done during election, people don't talk about it or realise it.

If Singaporeans wish to lose such a good Minister to "give the other side a chance", then think about all these people and whether you are gambling away their chance at a better life with such a good MP. They don't wish that Aljunied be used as a gambling chip for the Workers' Party's grand plans.

Please remember GY is Singapore's Minister of Foreign Affairs so he flies around meeting dignitaries, diplomats, kings and presidents from all around the world.

Yet as he makes his way back into Singapore, he doesn't get consort with the elite and bathe in caviar (as I would) but visits Singapore's heartlanders to hear about their problems and try his best to help them. If he is a woman you can describe him as 进得了厨房,出得了厅堂, correct not?

Yet not a day passes where people yell at him (whether via fb, letters or IRL) expecting him to solve every minute issue of theirs. Some people are still ungrateful, unseeing to his goodness. SHIOK HOR? Not everyday Harvard Scholar will sit there let you yell leh.

Such a fucking thankless job. Yet people are thinking of kicking him out. It is OUR HONOUR, OUR BLESSING to have him on our side, building Singapore. A man with a big brain and an even bigger heart. We are so lucky.

As for the rest of us not staying in Aljunied...

In GY's final speech he mentioned how Singaporeans find that the government are no longer listening to them; too arrogant; out of touch with the citizens.

He said he will listen to us, learn from us, and fight for us. He will fight for a better, changed, improved PAP. And this he promised this in front of thousands of citizens who are all pining our hopes on him.

And I believe him. Because he is a man who ALWAYS delivers.

If you say you wish to vote opposition in to get more "voices" into the parliament, fine.

But just remember you are playing a very dangerous game here. 82 out of 87 seats are contested. Nobody can tell how many seats the PAP will win tomorrow. But judging from the overall sentiment, I'd say about 50% of people are strongly pro-opposition.

Because they are very unhappy with PAP. Because they want a change. And they don't really know what they will get with the opposition but they feel that their lives are so bad now that ANYTHING will be better than this. Let me tell you these people just don't know how good they've got it.

Another 30% perhaps want more voices in the parliament. Or among these are people who take voting lightly, thinking they'd support the underdog just because "Hiyah other people will still vote for PAP one lah".

If tomorrow PAP is, god forbid, a minority... And we form a coalition government (which has proven to almost never work), our country is doomed. And I know deep down, most Singaporeans still want PAP governing us.

You want more voices in the government?

But we also need more voices to say 'Hey, I still want PAP to rule leh. I vote them'. And right now that voice is SMALL.

So please, just remember your vote counts!!

How many of you are RIDING WITH THE LIGHTNING with me?? I wish I was at a rally so I can hear cheers. LOL

- Sorry I said this will be a light entry. It turned out not to be hahaha!!

IMPORTANT NOTE: I AM NOT BEING PAID BY THE PAP IN ANY WAY. If you think I can write blog entries like this without real conviction and passion, you must think very very highly of my blogging skills. And no amount of money can convince me to do harm for my own country which I love to death and intend to stay in till I DIE.

Hey hardcore ANTI PAP people... Can't you tell this blog belongs to ME by mere merit that I have so many photos of myself on it? I am therefore MODERATING and deleting any comments that do not suit my interest. Tyrannic? A little, but nobody is stopping you from setting up your own award-winning blog, innit?

So don't blame me when you 1,500 word essay gets deleted before anyone can even see it.

Vote Wisely

NOT an advertorial

So here's another post about the General Elections with a generic title coz I have no idea what to title it.

All I know is that as the 7th of May draws closer I wish to blog about some of the stuff that I feel strongly about. I know that a lot of you (will, if not already) disagree with me and think that I'm stupid, ignorant, and most ridiculous of all, paid by the PAP. All I can say is... You don't have to read this!

And it's super long-winded.

1) Everybody's ANGRY

Watching the rallies of the opposition really annoys me. Hearing people cheer as the PAP are being blamed from the flash floods to Mat Selamat to housing prices to foreign talents in Singapore...

Seriously, people are so full of anger and indignance that I'm sure if someone yelled "KILL THE PAP!!!111" the crowd will respond with a loud cheer.

It is ridiculous. People are all angry over SOMETHING in their lives. Be it that buying a HDB used up all their savings or that they are losing hair... It is so convenient please, to vent all that frustration of your unhappiness on your government - the PAP!

BECAUSE EVERYONE IS DOING IT ANYWAY!

Suddenly it's not your own fault that driving a taxi is not enough to feed your 6 children. It is the PAP's. What an awesome liberating feeling! Yeah PAP ask you to keep fucking without contraception so it is their responsibility to give you welfare!

Yeah the PAP caused floods and inconvenience coz they don't know how to predict the weather.

People always yakking about how PAP doesn't help the poor... Nicole Seah even said her stupid inspiration for dabbling in politics is because she saw an old lady with a roof over her head but no food...

EXCUSE ME? THE ROOF FLY TO ABOVE HER HEAD BY ITSELF AH? Must give her roof must provide food everyday... Must help her wipe her ass or not?

I'm not saying we shouldn't help the poor. We should. But everything needs to be in balance. To say that the rich and able should constantly be giving to the poor, needy or lazy is a childish idealistic notion that simply won't work. We must simply accept that some people suffer in life - we can try to limit it, but we cannot eradicate it.

People like to hear things like TAX THE RICH LAH! REDUCE MINISTER'S PAY! WHY SHOULD THEY EARN SO MUCH WHILE WE ARE SUFFERING?

Excuse me? WHY? Who is stopping you from being a hardworking student, getting a scholarship, and becoming minister yourself? Who is stopping you from setting up your own business after saving up money from doing several jobs? YOU THINK ALL THESE PEOPLE DIDN'T WORK HARD?

You want to blame, you blame yourself. Don't think just because you are faring worse than others everyone else has to contribute to a better livelihood for you? FUCK THAT. You know what is COMMUNISM not?

You want cheapo HDB flats... Singapore's land is so limited, HOW CHEAP YOU WANT? You think what? HDB grow like mushroom? All you need is soil, sunshine, water and some love? NO LEH A LOT OF BANGALA NEEDED TO BUILD THEM!

I'm not rich myself ok? Mike and I barely have enough to pay the downpayment for a HDB. But I don't expect the government to give me money or lower the prices leh... Why should they? I refuse to take any blogshop ads. I lazy to blog more. I can't be bothered to source out more advertisers. I spend my money on shoes and bags. SO LIKE THAT LAH! Either be contented or blame yourself!

I don't like the prices here... Move out lor!

And if the government should help you because you can't help being sickly or disabled - it is a PRIVILEGE. NOT A GIVEN.

Watch this. It's a guy who has been helped by his MP (from PAP) and yet he doesn't blame the government for his hard life.

Nobody owes you a living!!

I'm not saying don't blame the PAP for anything that has gone wrong. Sure, they make mistakes. Big mistakes that may have cost our country billions. I also don't like all the foreign construction workers in SG. Don't like it that my future HDB so puny and still must ballot. And maybe..... a change will do us good.

But will it? Why are people making their choices only focusing on the mistakes that were made, the limitations that the PAP has? I'm focusing on the good work the PAP did.

Am I willing to sacrifice our safety, our political stablity, our ultra low unemployment rate, our high standard of living... all to try out some new Ah mao Ah kow leaders? (No offence to Chen Show Mao) I don't want leh!

CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE. Thanks to Obama "CHANGE" is the new buzzword of the year. You want change?

Change from what to what? If our bar is at "GOOD" now, you want to change it to "EXCELLENT"? You think opposition can do it? What if they change from "GOOD" to "FUCKED"? There is no perfect system. "GOOD" is good enough for me.

And I trust. I believe PAP is listening. I trust that they will strive to improve our lives, and I believe they will do a good job because they have proven they can do a good job.

p/s: For the above I'm addressing people who are 100% against PAP, not those who just wish to have some opposition voices in the government.

2) Marine Parade GRC

I'm freaking angry over the comparisons between Nicole Seah and Tin Pei Ling. Why is it that when I hear people sing praises of Nicole, it is always coupled with a "She is so much better than Tin Pei Ling!"

Is it because Nicole Seah is just mediocre standing alone without Tin Pei Ling to act as a joke next to her?

(I agree Tin Pei Ling seems to be an airhead with really shitty public speaking skills but that's not the point)

And then never mind... I've heard sentiments from people saying they don't know who to vote for in Marine Parade because they don't want Tin Pei Ling as their MP.

WHAT THE FLYING FUCK???

You don't want Tin Pei Ling as your MP, but you want ABDUL SALIM HARUN??

THIS dude

Why am I suddenly talking about him?

Because he is in Marine Parade NSP. Just that nobody talks about him.

Why are people comparing Tin Pei Ling to Nicole Seah? Just coz they are both young women? Please leh, Nicole Seah is clearly the strongest contender in her team, whereas Tin Pei Ling is the weakest.

You want to compare team to team then you compare strongest to strongest, weakest to weakest lah!

So... Tin Pei Ling vs Abdul Harun.

Tin Pei Ling - Education: Crescent Girls' School, Hwa Chong JC, NUS Bachelor in Social science.

Pros: Seems motherly. Volunteered for last 7 years at YoungPAP.

Cons: Likes Kates Spade, act cute, airheaded.

Abdul Harun - Education: Woodlands Secondary School, ITE, Part-time Diploma in RETAIL MANAGEMENT. Works as a warehouse assistant.

Pros: ???? Represents blue-collared workers - quoted from NSP's page.

Cons: Cannot even lead in a warehouse want to lead the country. Education unimpressive. Blog shows he cannot write proper English and uses words like "our belove Singapore".

And Nicole Seah vs SM Goh Chok Tong...

SM Goh - Education: Raffles Institute, First class honours in NUS, Master of Arts in Econs in Williams College, USA.

Pros: Lead the country as Prime Minister, served Marine Parade GRC since goodness knows when, implemented numerous policies which are quite boring to talk about.

Cons: Has Tin Pei Ling in his GRC

Nicole Seah - Education: CHIJ Katong, VJC, Bachelor of Social Science in NUS.

Pros: Knows how to insult PAP to ginormous cheers

Cons: Attention-seeking whore with grumpy face

Can't be bothered to talk about the rest of the team members coz I'd sound very biased but let's just say that the PAP team is more impressive.

So yeah in conclusion. Wanna compare must compare to the right person ok?

*******************************

3) Aljunied GRC

Aljunied is most strongly contested GRC. I know a lot of Aljunied residents are planning to vote for the Workers' Party. I have nothing to say about or against the WP. But I do want to say my piece for Minister George Yeo.

It is not everyday that we get a minister who is as good as him. Even online where the sentiment against PAP is very strong, most of the comments about Minister George Yeo (hereby known as GY) are all pretty positive.

I've met him on 3 occasions. The first two were just lunch where he wanted to meet up with "young influencers" to just generally chit chat about what the younger generation think about politics, among other topics. Third was the filming of the Election Special.

Whenever I spoke, I could see him listening intently. Even when I was talking nonsense. When he replies (in his trademark slow voice haha) he is never patronising and full of shit but is genuinely interested and would always ask for more information. Trust me I rarely like people and I can always tell when people are being pretentious. GY is not.

When I was first asked if I would like to meet the minister, I was like WTF... Why he want to meet me? WANT TO ASK ME TO BLOG FOR HIM RIGHT? SORRY PLEASE NOT INTERESTED.

At that time I only knew he was a minister, but I was superbly uninterested in politics. But as the GE grew closer I started to hear more things about him and the more I hear the more impressed I am. And I am writing this not because he in any way asked me to.

He is extremely intelligent, topping his year as the top student in the O Levels. Went to Harvard and graduated with the highest honour. Came back, joined the army, became Brigadier-General. Quit the army to stand for Parliament.

When he was Minister of Information and the Arts, he liberalised the use of dialect in local movies, which resulted in his strong friendship with Jack Neo then after.

GY then got into a lot of controversy over his "support" of Jack Neo during the extramarital affair issue (not that he agrees with cheating, just that he supports Jack Neo during the difficult time). Surprisingly enough when I met him, he wasn't afraid to speak about this issue and even asked us whether he did the right thing.

To elaborate on this... Nobody hates cheating more than me. But if you are a public figure and your (also public figure friend) made a mistake, what do you do? Do you choose your public image over friendship?

This seriously puzzled me for a bit. What if tomorrow Rozz or Kaykay like commits fraud or something? Would I still publicly support them if it harms my career?

GY made a decision to stand loyally by his friend, despite the impact it had on his career. And that took real bravery and selflessness. For that, I respect him.

Besides successfully negotiating the Free Trade Agreement for SG and proposing the idea of having IRs, he is also tirelessly doing his duties for Aljunied GRC to jog with the residents or listen to their woes and help them.

Seriously. Because I follow his (relatively boring lol) twitter account, I always see him tweet stuff like "Visiting the Block xxxx residents today" while I'm chillaxing at home. He IS paid a high salary - but no one can doubt how hard he works. And not to mention a lot of his salary he donates to good causes like the Viva foundation for children with cancer. Ministers are often painted as greedy assholes and I can't speak for the rest but I'm certain GY is one of those who gives more than he takes.

He also said in a rally that his team has delivered and fulfilled every election promise that was made in 2006.

And not to mention if you watched the video above, you can see that he is one of the few ministers who are extremely humble and willing to listen. You can even contact him through facebook!

We are very, very lucky to have him as one of Singapore's ministers.

The reason I am writing all these is because...

For those of you in Aljunied GRC - please consider this before voting: If Workers' Party wins, we, as a nation, loses George Yeo as a minister.

He can no longer be part of parliament OR cabinet. As for the opposition supporters saying he should run for Presidency... Don't get taken in. Being President holds very different duties from what GY is accustomed to doing and is doing well.

If you say you want a voice for the people, then think about this:

Is it better to have 5 Workers' Party members merely in parliament or is it better to have a Minister representing your voice up in the cabinet?

You want to be heard - George Yeo is listening.

So think carefully before you vote! The elections are happening not for you to stamp your feet like a child and vent your frustrations on that piece of paper. Vote the party that will move our nation forward, and not the one that tempts you with unrealistic ideologies that might ruin everything we have built for years.

I'm not trying to tell you who to vote for. Ok I kinda am. But I fear a bleak future for our nation should the PAP topple. And don't say it won't! My god the day we have a coalition government our country will go to the dogs.

p/s: Still deleting rude comments at my own whim. Pro opposition? Post your drivel elsewhere.

What the fuck, Singaporeans?

Today I saw the news report that our founding father, Minister Mentor Lee Kwan Yew, has less facebook "likes" than Nicole Seah.

I had it up to here with this election bullshit.

I get it that people have different idealogies when it comes to government. If you think opposition will do better than the PAP, so be it. If you think the PAP is too smug and needs to be pushed into harder work by knowing that their position is not a given, I cannot argue with you. You unhappy your housing too expensive, ok fine.

But what I cannot stand is how the elections have shown how horribly ungrateful and thankless Singaporeans are.

No matter what a shitty job the PAP is doing now, it remains that a lot of their members have dedicated a big part of their lives to building everything we have today.

It is thanks to them that we are the number 1 most uncorrupted country in the WORLD. We have absurd safety around the island. Our children are all ensured, at the very least, some education.

So no matter how unhappy you are now, what's with the snide remarks, the insults, the twisting of the PAP's words into evil connotations, the yelling during their rallies? Really? Papsmear? Childish! Just go vote for opposition lah talk so much for what?

Alright enough ranting about PAP vs the Opposition. Whatever. Let's agree to disagree.

I'm now talking about Nicole Seah VS MM Lee.

Yes yes she is the voice of all the poor Singaporeans who have their woes ignored by the evil government.

But why should she deserve for FB Likes than MM Lee? I know, FB Likes don't mean anything. But I'm just irrationally annoyed. MM Lee dedicated his whole life to building Singapore to where it is today, and this is the thanks he gets from Singaporeans?

That they'd rather pledge loyalty to some advertising chick who has not done anything for Singapore yet?

Back from back in 1951, SIXTY freaking years ago when he looked like this:

He has served our country...

He led us through our separation from Malaysia, which worried him so much he fell sick shortly after. And even though we are a minute country with no natural resources, transformed us to one of the most cosmopolitian countries in the world.

Think Singapore is over-populated? Thank him, he discouraged our parents from giving birth to more than 2 kids each, or the situation would have been even worse.

When Singapore was faced with political corruption, he gave the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau more power and upped the pay of ministers and judges for an honest, clean government. It worked.

He encouraged Singaporeans to learn English, which we are now using to criticise his every move.

And throughout his life he is relentlessly worrying, planning and working for a better Singapore.

Till today when he is THIS old man:

If you are so old and your wife just died would you still care about your country's welfare??

AND YET HOW DO YOU GUYS REPAY HIM?

I don't care how you vote or how you feel towards the government.

But you cannot deny our MM Lee of his contribution to Singapore - so please, SHOW SOME RESPECT.

How shameful and hurtful is it for him to see that Nicole Seah has more support from Singaporeans than him?

Thank you MM Lee. I am proud to be Singaporean today because of you.

p/s: Who am I voting for? My GRC is Tanjong Pagar so it's a walkover. But if I were in the Aljunied GRC, I'd vote for the PAP because I believe George Yeo does an awesome job and will continue to do so. Losing our foreign minister will be a huge loss to our nation. But you do whatever you want.

p/p/s: I will delete any comment that I find too self-righteous or annoying with no rhyme or reason.

UPDATE: Yes I know Facebook Likes are stupid are MM Lee's page isn't even official. I know he probably doesn't care about FB Likes. BUT. I just BUAY GUM WAN leh!

Why the fucking news sites all showing off as if this is some kind of WIN for Opposition? Fuck please it's even in Nicole Seah's wikipedia page like a trophy. You know what is BUAY GUM WAN!! 不甘願! 不爽 let her even have this little victory which she doesn't deserve.

And yes now MM Lee Kuan Yew has more likes than her, as it should be. Well done folks!
