I'm glad because I've been really unmotivated to blog lately... I guess with this I'd just have to buck up if I want votes!



Back in 2009 I won Best Original Blog Design, Most Influential Blog and best of all, Region's Best Blog!

What's the big deal with some internet award? Well, it's the biggest deal there is for bloggers because the competition is extra stiff with bloggers from all over Asia Pacific (Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore) competing! And this year, I think there might be even more countries involved!

Plus we had a super glamourous event with red carpet and all at the Pan Pacific Hotel. It was just an awesome get together for everyone in the industry. :D


So yes this year I am a finalist for two categories!!!!!

The muthafucking best burger in the world... Inside the patty is foie gras and the most tender short ribs I've ever had. It's just OOMPH. From DB Bistro at Marina Bay Sands!

The service there is beyond impeccable.

Taken during the Samantha Thavasa event. She's an ambassador for ST. She seemed nice but I didn't get to speak to her much. Very pretty!

I bought that romper at Bugis for $66... Stupid Qiuqiu went to taobao to look for it and found it for $11 including shipping. She somemore ask me gleefully... "I found it, you want to know how much?" I said no but later I resigned to fate and she told me $11 and I was like FFFFUUUUUUUU

Waiting at Quincy Hotel for Makiyo to arrive. She's here in Singapore coz she is the ambassador for Sophie Monk beauty products. You can find them in Guardian. :D Wow I realised the two celebrities in this post are both Japanese! Or half anyway.

Invited Shuyin, Yutaki, Eric and Sophie to join me that day... Qiu and Kaykay were supposed to come but they couldn't make it. :(

She's so pretty and cute! Her nose is like super perfect please and I don't know how she dyed her hair to be such an awesome ashy tone. Plus the colour is really even and it's really healthy wtf.

She was dressed in comfy flats and a sweater to meet us but after meeting bloggers she was supposed to meet newspaper reporters. I saw her take off the sweater (underneath is some sequinny dress) and change into chio shoes WHY LIKE THAT LOL I ALSO WANT TO SEE HER SLUTTY!!



BFF and Makiyo chatting like old friends wtf... Shuyin's super into Taiwanese stuff so she was probably discussing something nobody else there knew about Makiyo.

BTW this Shuyin really super wu xim she went to my place early and bought Royce chocolates + a bangle to bling for Makiyo as a present... I contributed by doing the blinging. Unfortunately didn't take a picture of it. It's just the word "Makiyo" in blue diamantes with a red shadow. Looks a bit Wonder Woman-ish.

New blogskin!!

Hello hello!!

The last time my blogskin was changed was on May 26, 2009!!

Normally I don't care for special dates but my blogskin was ready about 1 day ago and since today is 11.11.11 I thought it'd be awesome to launch it at 11.11pm too.

So many ones is very auspicious right? Hopefully I can remain number 1 forever LOL.

Anyway so yes, the new blogskin! How do you like it?

I wanted something more floral and jappy rather than the princessy pink look that was my old blogskin... It's getting a bit too juvenile for my age!

GOODBYE!!! I'd miss you!!

I guess the biggest change is the "latest video" part I added to the top!

There, Lionel from Ripplewerkz, the awesome human being that did my coding, embedded my playlist and did some coding wizardry to make the subscribe button look not as ugly as it normally looks. I'm sure most of you who can't be arsed about html won't know what I'm talking about so I'd skip this. So yes anyway you can view all my videos from there!

After all blogs are becoming more social so I need to keep with the times and tweet/tumblr/youtube etc.

The graphics I approached Nu (or Priscilla as I call her) from http://unnu.us to help me. I told her I wanted something Lis Liza inspired and she delivered! She is really good with all the girly graphics. :D

I got a bit of a chip on my shoulder because last time during the Nuffnang Awards people said I didn't deserve to win the Best Original Blog Design since I didn't design my blogskin myself.

This time round I'd like to stress that I actually did about half of the graphics myself too and had a lot of input in the coding ok!!

I mean look at this!

Haha that's how the header originally looked!! *unglam*

I thought about doing this ribbon look myself and stuck it on blu-tack then photoshopped it. I love how pretty it looks now! :D

The floral background I actually took from the Liz Lisa website and modified it so that it tiles.

As for the blog banner, special thanks to my BFF Shuyin, Momo and Qiu for making it happen!! And Moomoo Pets for the adorablllllllllle bunnies. :D

Shuyin and Momo accompanied me on the shoot and Qiu sourced the flowers and accompanied me to buy them!!

Clara from Moomoo is super nice and I actually made a trip down to see her bunnies before the shoot... One of her netherland dwarves had about 9 baby bunnies are they are all so stinking cute I almost died!!

And they are all kept in very good/clean conditions with a real garden to make burrows in!!

Since her home is a nice private house with a swing I thought I'd just have the shoot over there... That way the bunnies won't have to leave their home just for the shoot!

It was a rainy day. Thank god the rain stopped pretty fast.

And here's BFF transforming it with all the fake flowers than I bought. She really has a knack for this sort of thing and she is a perfectionist so I just let her get on with it. LOL

p/s: I'm not sharing where I bought the flowers.

Baby bunnies put in a tank for the duration of the shoot!!

Here's a chio picture of Shuyin. I also treated her to Mcdees after the shoot but basically this picture and Mcdees is all the rewards she got from waking up at 8am to be the photographer and stylist. LOL

I took a lot of pictures with them but most of them looked like the bunnies were the center of attention so they didn't work for banner pics. :(

This is my favourite bunny of them all! White with grey ears... I wonder who he/she belongs to now!

The lop is Clara's personal pet Fluffy! He is so tame and is allowed to run all around the house!

Chin fillers

Sorry for not blogging lately... This time round I have a totally legit reason which is that my arm has been freaking painful lately. I mentioned in the previous entry that I thought it's carpal tunnel because it started getting painful while I was using the mouse but apparently with carpal tunnel you don't get pain above the wrist and it's more numbness than pain, which I haven't experienced (numbness).

So this pain has been in my wrist, forearm, upper arm all the way up to the right side of my neck and it has been bugging me for like 2 weeks now.

I went to see a Chinese Medicine doctor and did acupuncture and a massage and all that happened is that the massage gave me a blue-black on my shoulder and the acupuncture made me bleed on the sheets (from the puncture point not my vagina I don't know why I'm specifying this).

Then I went to actually see an orthopaedic specialist which set me back $128 and he also doesn't know what's going on (he said it could be a pinched nerve on my neck) and said I would have to do a scan which costs $600+ to find out, which I declined to. I'm gonna see if it lasts for the next 2 weeks or something.

So now it still hurts and I presume it's just a very lasting muscle ache??! Are muscle aches supposed to last this long?! If I lose my arm I won't be able to photoshop anymore!!!!!!

Yeah so I've switched to being an awkward left handed mouse user and I didn't wanna use the computer too much especially not to photoshop so that the arm can heal...

But the newest Xiaxue's Guide to Life came out and I thought my chin looks super fantastic in it!

And it's because I did chin fillers at Dr Georgia Lee's!!!

Fillers, in case you didn't know, are, erm... these... gels? Are they gels? Or some sort of liquidy thing that aesthetic doctors inject into your face. They are semi permanent and will go off after a while. How long depends on which filler you choose! They are used to fill wrinkles or fill up whatever part of you needs more volume (except hair LOL).

I've tried fillers on my lips, nose, laugh lines and this time round I thought I'd try them out on my chin!

Most people, when thinking about improving their appearance usually focus on eyes and nose but the chin is actually also super important!! It can change EVERYTHING!!

Anyway here are some before and after pics I took with the iphone. They are 100% not edited or photoshopped!

I never really thought of doing anything to my chin coz I thought my face was long enough as it is but it really made my face look sharper. :D

As usual, a disclaimer before you haters spill vitriol on me. Not encouraging anyone to do plastic surgery. If you are happy with your appearance, I am very happy for you that you choose to focus on the deep and raise above the superficial. But please don't give the rest of us crap for bothering about our looks - there are, afterall, whales to be saved. Focus the anger on whale killers. Or the rich. The new trend is to hate on the 1%.
